This week, I’m veering off the writer’s path and heading down the artist’s side trail! It's been a while since my last character art reveal for THE END OF THE WORLD (launching February 5th!), and I’m pretty excited about the piece I'm sharing today as it depicts one of my main characters.
The Story Behind the Drawing
At the heart of the smoldering ruins of Fourth City Delta stands Animkii, an enslaved war mod, and one of the protagonists from THE END OF THE WORLD.
Mods, for those unfamiliar with my fictional universe, are individuals who have undergone extensive technological modification. Their thoughts and actions are controlled by the Technocracy and its sinister hive mind, the Alphaknot. Yet, beneath Animkii’s imposing steel exoskeleton, her humanity persists in its struggle for freedom… Will Animkii’s quest to reclaim her humanity succeed or is she destined to be forever ensnared in the relentless machinations of the Technocracy? Find out February 5th!
If you're curious to delve deeper into the lore surrounding mods, I invite you to explore my previous blog post titled The Plight of Mods in a Dystopian World, where I provide an in-depth exploration of different types of mods and their significance.

I tend to associate the word "Mod" with hip English guys who tooled around on scooters in the 1960s. You clearly are not thinking that way.
